GMD Investors Club at the main economic forum of Russia.

Next Investors Club session will take place within the program of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (June 17 – 19 2010). Investors Club is a platform for free exchanges between decision-makers and leading players of the finance and development market.

Regional dimension of PROEstate.

May 14. Moscow. Organizing Committee of PROEstate 2010 met in the RF Ministry of regional development . The meeting was chaired by Minister Viktor Basargin.

The Guild to help burdened banks out.

A new Expert council on capitalization of noncore assets belonging to financial institutions has been formed. During last years mortgaged assets, unfinished projects in particular, have grown into a real problem for banks, not only for indebted developers and commercial property owners.

Urban development: Russian mission for Dutch know-how

The breakthrough import of Dutch knowledge and skills by Peter I is a frequently quoted fact. Then the booming cities of Low Lands served as a model for masterplanning and development of newly-born St. Petersburg. Through the following centuries Dutch and Russian cities survived through demolitions and rises, which transformed them. Difference in historical choices minimized exchanges between Russian and Dutch professionals working in the urban development industry.

First Swallows DO MAKE a Summer

2nd Cannes Session of Investors Club.

The Investors Club project has been run by the Guild of Property Managers and Developers for 2 years. The 1st Cannes session of Investors Club was held at MIPIM 2009. It attracted large audience and interesting speakers and had a good coverage in the professional media. The raised issues were kept in focus at the subsequent IC events held in the economic capitals of Europe. Challenges of 2nd Cannes session: to avoid a repetition and formulate new questions reflecting latest trends of investment market.

European educational and training program on facility management and cleaning.

The Guild of Property Managers and Developers in conjunction with the EASI (European Alliance for Solutions and Innovations) and its representative in Russia Becar EASI are launching a new European educational and training program on facility management and cleaning.

Christmas Summits in December 2009

In December 2009 Omsk and Yekaterinburg joined Moscow, St. Petersburg and Samara – cities, which have become traditional hosts of the Guild’s end-of-the-year events.

GMD Business Tour in London

1 - 5 December 2009 the Guild of Property Managers and Developers was on a business tour in London. A year ago the British property market was the first to take the impact of the world crisis. Russian professionals went to London to understand survival strategies and drivers, which help the British real estate industry to cope with the slump, see post-crisis priorities and projects.

GMD at Expo Real 2009: Overview of events and experiences of the Munich expo

The Guild of Property Managers and Developers (GMD) is a traditional participant of Expo Real fairs in Munich, but it was the first time that GMD was responsible for the program of events at the stand of St. Petersburg. The GMD group included Moscow and St. Petersburg companies, but themes of most events were domineered by the priority topics of St. Petersburg. At Expo Real the Northern Capital of Russia was represented by a strong team of authorities (committees) responsible for urban development and construction.

PROEstate 2009

Third PROEstate has become another milestone in the history of the Russian real estate industry. Its first results have been summarized and statistics made public at the concluding press conference: PROEstate was attended by professionals from 19 countries and 30 Russian regions. Its events were covered by 200 accredited journalists.

Russian takes a more professional approach to MIPIM 2009

Nobody missed the Russian who, last year, came with his wife in fur and his mistress in mini-skirt, one German journalist at MIPIM 2009 told me. He was happy to see the adsence of Russian oligarchs mega-yachts on the bay and deficit of mega-posters disfiguring luxury hotel facades along the Croisette. However i remain amazed at the contrast between perception and fact of many at MIPIM, even this year.
