Investors Club session in Bonn

Investors Club session in Bonn took place within the GMD business tour to Germany. Participants оf the trip visited most interesting real estate projects and properties, had insightful discussions with the professionals and experts of German real estate market.
Investors Club session took place in Consulate-General of Russian Federation in Bonn. It was supported by Eurohypo AG. In his greeting speech Feodor Khorokhordin, Consul-General of Russia, stressed the importance of direct exchanges between Russian and German market professionals. “Such projects as Investors Club are supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because they are a real implementation example of the policy directed at the intensification of economical partnership between Russia and Germany” - said Mr. Khorokhordin.
The key topics of the IC session were to post-crisis strategies of financial institutions (e.g. regions, industries and market sectors favored by investors). The following issues were discussed:
• Banking strategies for real estate. What real estate sectors and projects will be on investors’ demand?
• Selection criteria and project quality: what Russian companies should do to attract funding to their future projects.
• The quality of investment proposal. ‘Common language’ of Russian and Western market players.

Markus Leininger, Head Corporate Banking Northern and Central / Eastern Europe, Eurohypo presented the EuroHypo strategy in Russia
‘Nevsky Alliance’ Company presented its business centre project in St. Petersburg, and it was discussed as a case by Western investors
The following participants took part in the discussion; Bernd Hallier, Director of European Retail Institute, Dieter Rebitzer, Director of Research Institute of Housing and Environment, AG; Wulff Aengevelt, managing partner of Aengevelt Immobilien KG, representatives World-Cargo-Center GmbH, Sergey Igonin, Managing Partner of IB Group, Alexander Shabasov, Head of projects in St. Petersburg of Zcheldoripoteka and others.
After the discussion German and Russian participants had wonderful opportunities for direct communication and exchanges in the exquisite atmosphere of the Consulate, a historical Building of the former USSR embassy in Germany. The reception and dinner followed the best traditions of Russian hospitality.
“In the current economic situation the trip in Germany was very useful” said Vyacheslav Semenenko, Chairman of St. Petersburg Construction Committee. “Why Germany? Because it is the traditional strongest partner of Russia. As a rule, German companies are very well informed about Russian market situation, and not theoretically, but in practice. We visited headquarters of companies, which have offices in Russia. As professionals knowing the situation on the world construction market they are very positive about perspectives, such as an increase of investors’ activity in the 4th quarter of the current year - 1st quarter of the next year. This is a very good prognosis for Petersburg.”
